The Introduction

Writer: TalieTalie

Hellloooooo.....I am so excited to meet you all!

I have been toying for the last few years about starting a blog and finally plucked up the courage to just do it! ...So I'm jumping in with two feet, and a huge amount of support and encouragement from my husband (thank goodness!).

Let me introduce myself; I'm Talie - a 28 year old (nearly 29 ahh!!) first-time mum to my cheeky wee 8-month old boy Cohen, wife to my very supportive (and patient) Spanish hunk of a husband Sergio, and we have a crazy black and white cat called Pip. My family and friends are always joking around saying they can “never get a word in" or "she doesn't stop talking" and "slow down Natalie!" , which is all probably very true, but it’s only because I feel like I have so much to say, I know my mind, and I also do my research…that's never a bad thing, is it?! Well, this blog will be an outlet for me, and hopefully a guide to anyone else, whether you can relate or just need an escape.

I have experienced a lot in my life, BUT my pregnancy, breastfeeding journey and labour were certainly NOT straight forward. Neither was weaning, due to discovering Cohen was having issues with dairy, so I will be writing and sharing my experience around all these issues and how to overcome them.

I also am a professional musical theatre artist (although I chose to take my career in a different direction) and I will share different fitness, exercise and relaxation techniques I am going to use to get my "Mummy body" into shape – the goal being to be healthy and strong.

My other passion (which doesn't always help with my fitness goals) is ... yup, you guessed it…FOOD! I was vegetarian for 8 years before meeting my hubby and have been on and off since. I am also gluten intolerant and I'm now dairy free due to Cohen and our breastfeeding journey, and while I am exploring veganism we do still eat meat or fish from time to time (don't hate!) ...I believe people are calling it ‘flexitarianism’, whatever that truly means?! So, I’ll be sharing all my wonderful culinary explorations and discoveries with you too.

And finally, between Sergio and myself, we are slowly getting our wee house in order and trying wherever possible to do it ourselves; so when there is a project underway, large or small, I'll be sharing what we did and how we did it ...Lock-down has given us the time to crack on so I have plenty completed, in progress, and in the pipeline ready to tell you about :)  yaaay!

And there we have it, the very nerve-wracking ‘First Post’ and the start of our journey together - how exciting! You can also connect with me through social media (@livingwithtalie), where we can chat and share with our ‘Living as Talie’ community, and where I’ll be announcing when each post goes live.

Feel free to message me with questions and comments but until then ...

Enjoy reading, have courage and be kind.
